THE FCA is to move its headquarters to new offices at the Olympic Park in East London.
The financial regulator will leave its current base in Canary Wharf to move in to 430,000 sq ft of offices in The International Quarter (TIQ), Stratford.
Reports say that the move won’t take place until 2018 when the current lease in the North Colonnade at Canary Wharf comes to an end. The FCA is a successor body to the old FSA and employs almost 3,000 staff.
The International Quarter, Stratford City, is a new 22-acre, £1.3billion project from Lend Lease and LCR which will be home to 4 million sq ft of flexible commercial office space.
The commercial district is part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, large swathes of which will become open to the public as of April 5th.

ARCHAEOLOGISTS have discovered a number of exciting finds in Northampton at the site of brand new council offices.
A team from the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) have excavated a medieval back yard and discovered a bread oven, medieval pottery and a collection of bronze pins.
The dig is taking place in Fetter Street, where a new £43million office building for Northamptonshire County Council will be built.
Andy Chapman, MOLA Archaeologist, said that the project “is providing a rare opportunity to look at the back streets of the medieval town, occupied by rows of small houses or cottages with their backyard plots, and to explore the everyday lives of the average medieval Northamptonian.”
The excavation will continue until August.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE County Council has put some of its own offices up for rent as part of a cost-saving initiative.
Council officers have been moved out of the county authority’s Castle Court offices in Cambridge and boards advertising its availability have gone up.
Cambridgeshire County Council say they have to save around £149 million over five years, including £38 million in the current financial years.
Cambridgeshire County Councillor Steve Count, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “In these times of having to find millions of pounds in savings it is right we squeeze every asset we have to help protect frontline services.
We are already sharing buildings with other councils and agencies to make it easier for people to access services while making savings.
I have no desire to sell off the family silver so by leasing this building we will generate savings and still have an asset that we can sell if the time is right.”
Castle Court is being marketed by Barker Storey Matthews who say it has “potential for alternative uses, including residential and student accommodation.”
