Royal Dutch Shell to close offices in Reading, Aberdeen and Manchester
SHELL is to close three major offices at sites across the UK, it has been announced.
The offices being shut down by Royal Dutch Shell are at Thames Valley Park in Reading, Albyn Place in Aberdeen and Brabazon House in Manchester.
The Reading offices had been the headquarters of BG Group until the company was taken over by Royal Dutch Shell in a $49 billion deal that was approved in January.
The Reading and Aberdeen offices are expected to be closed by the of this year, reports the Guardian, with the Manchester office closing by the end of 2017.
1,600 employees are based at the three sites affected by the announcement. Voluntary redundancy is to be offered to employees unable to move to new locations.
