New Enterprise Centre Opens in Stoke-on-Trent’s Longton Town Hall
A new enterprise centre has opened in Stoke-on-Trent, transforming part of the historic Longton Town Hall into a hub for young entrepreneurs. The project is a partnership between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the charity Launch It, which specialises in supporting start-ups and small businesses.
The Grade II-listed building has been refurbished to provide 20 modern studios, co-working areas and meeting rooms, alongside training facilities and tailored business support services. The aim is to create a supportive environment for young people who want to start or grow their own ventures, while also contributing to the regeneration of Longton town centre.
Council leaders said the initiative demonstrates how heritage buildings can be successfully repurposed to meet modern needs, combining preservation with economic growth. By re-using Longton Town Hall, the city hopes to attract new talent, generate local employment and encourage innovation in one of Stoke-on-Trent’s key historic districts.
Launch It will run the day-to-day operation of the centre, offering mentoring, networking opportunities and practical support for tenants. The charity has a track record of managing similar spaces elsewhere in the UK, helping thousands of young entrepreneurs move from ideas to viable businesses.
The Longton project is part of a wider strategy to boost enterprise in Stoke-on-Trent and make better use of the city’s building stock. Local leaders believe it will not only benefit start-ups but also bring fresh energy to the high street, providing a new focal point for business and community life.
