Newbury office space at stunning and historic Elizabethan manor house Shaw House in Church Road
Our Newbury hub is housed inside Shaw House, the largest Elizabethan manor house in Berkshire. Built in 1581 by Thomas Dolman, a wealthy Newbury cloth merchant, it’s one of the best-preserved examples of Elizabethan architecture in the South of England. The building played a notable role in the First Battle of Newbury during the English Civil War in 1643, when it served as a field hospital, and it later served strategic purposes during World War II. Restored in 2007, Shaw House is now a stunning Grade I listed venue and the backdrop to your working day at CoTribe.
Working from a building steeped in centuries of history gives CoTribe Newbury a character and charm that a standard serviced office simply can’t replicate. Set in tranquil, landscaped surroundings, it offers the kind of calm, focused environment that genuinely helps you do your best work.
Permitted access to Shaw House as agreed in the lease is from 8.00am-5.30pm Monday to Friday or other times as agreed with the House Manager during which the Property is open to members of the public.
Coffee, tea and snacks can be purchased from the Shaw House on site cafe.
Newbury is one of the most commercially vibrant towns in the South East, and it punches well above its weight when it comes to business. It’s home to the UK headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies. This makes Newbury a genuinely exciting place to grow a business, network with ambitious professionals and tap into a thriving local economy.
The town’s position along the eastern M4 corridor linking it to Reading, Bracknell, Slough and London makes it an ideal base for businesses that need easy access to the wider South East. Newbury has two train stations with regular services to London Paddington (around 55 minutes), making it well connected for client meetings in the capital while keeping overheads far lower than a London base.
With more startups, tech companies and consultants choosing West Berkshire as their home, demand for flexible workspace in Newbury is growing. CoTribe is perfectly positioned to meet that demand, offering affordable desk space and private office hire without the long-term lease commitments of traditional commercial property.
With the rise of hybrid working, demand for flexible desk space and shared offices in Surrey has grown significantly.
